The Oh Lab is dedicated to providing an inclusive, collaborative, innovative, and friendly environment for passionate scientists and engineers

Our approach is multi-disciplinary, spanning disciplines from chemical engineering, chemistry, and materials science and engineering. We are currently seeking for enthusiastic, dedicated, and exceptional candidates who share our passion.

Our Values

The Oh Lab is dedicated to providing an inclusive, collaborative, innovative, and friendly environment
for passionate scientists and engineers.

Pioneering and Productivity

We want lab members to do important and distinguishable research. We want our members to have the skills and confidence to give impactful talks, write important papers, to be great leaders, great communicators and great team players, and finally to achieve their professional goals and aspirations.

Trust and Commitment

We trust and respect each other at all times. We feel comfortable sharing ideas and freely participating in discussions and conversations based on vulnerability-based trust and mutual respect at all times.

Resilience and Positivity

We nurture next-generation professionals who will be great leaders in various fields in society. We believe the best science is possible when lab members are resilient, positive, consistent, collaborative and personally fulfilled.

Oh Lab Opportunities

  • You will learn to systematically apply the scientific method to research problems. You will learn to perform experimental research addressing some of the most important, fundamental problems in the filed today.  You will work on problems addressing grand challenges of our time (clean water, environment, energy, and biomedical separations). You will learn to write effectively and persuasively. You will learn to deliver influential oral technical presentations. You will become a member of a worldwide community and a family of colleagues sharing common interests. Most importantly, you will have fun!

  • If you are interested in the design of multifunctional polymer membranes for energy-efficient separations, in particularly for clean water, energy, environment and health, and/or you have strong background in polymers and membranes, I invite you to apply for Ph.D. positions in Chemical Engineering.

  • Prospective postdoctoral scholars with training in (1) organic polymer chemistry, including polymer/monomer synthesis, anionic polymerization, free radical polymerization, and/or 3D printing, (2) polymer physics, and (3) polymer membrane science and related fields, are encouraged to apply. To inquire about available positions, please contact Prof. Hee Jeung Oh via email and include the following information:

    • Cover letter including your research interests and contact information for 3 references

    • CV including list of publications and 3-5 representative publications (pdf)
